“Down By The Lake Stables” offers a full-care horse boarding facility. We are located on the South Shore in Nova Scotia (near Mahone Bay), just 1.9 km from exit 11, Hwy. 103, on beautiful Langille Lake. We have a large 100’ x 200’ outdoor riding ring and a 100’ x 70’ indoor riding arena. All the horses are turned out daily on either  the winter paddocks or in the summer time, on pasture. The daily turnout time is 8 to 12 hours, depending on weather conditions. In the summer, horses are turned out at night and can relax inside during the day, away from heat and bugs.

The stalls are 12’x14’ and have Promat (rubber filled mattress) footing and automated heated waterers. Our tack room is heated and has warm water. In the cold month, all outside paddocks have heated water tubs installed.

We provide all-inclusive care for your horse, incl. 2x grain, hay or pasture (we produce our own hay to guarantee good quality), daily monitoring, administration of supplements or medication (supplied by owner), blanketing, veterinary and farrier service (if barn vet and farrier are used), in short, we treat them like we treat our own.

Our main goal is to provide a safe and horse friendly environment for your horse and more than once we were told, that our facility is a heaven for horses.
