With 20+ years of horse experience, we own and operate a horse boarding facility known as “Down By The Lake Stables & Guest Home”. We take great pride in our family owned facility and the individual care each horse is getting. Our customers call our facility a horse heaven.  

Our truck and trailer are inspected annually in order to provide safe transportation. The truck is a 1998 Freightliner. The Trailer is a 2000 Raw, 51’ feet long and holds 11 horses. We have 9 straight stalls and 2 Box stalls (7.5’ X 8.5”). The truck and trailer is equipped with air ride suspensions and has low profile axels for easy loading and unloading. The horses are monitored every minute of the trip through our onboard camera system. During the trip, the horses are never unattended and we stop every 4 hours to water them and give them a visual inspection, especially the legs.. Hay is available for the horses during the whole trip. After each trip, our trailer gets cleaned and fresh shavings are provided at all times.

The 2 box stalls with solid walls in our trailer allow the transport of mares with foals by their side, brood mares in foal, young horses and stallions (certain conditions apply). Our care and concern always focuses  on the well being of your horse.

Most of our driving is done with a team of two, the owner, Martin Brodmann, and a second driver or caretaker. We are conscientious behind the wheel, know how to properly operate the rig and we always keep in mind the special cargo we carry. We treat your animal with the respect it deserves and care for it as if it were our own. From our first conversation to the final destination, your animal's best interest is always first and foremost. While on the road, we are equipped with cellular phone so you may be in contact with us at any time.

Horse Express Transportation operates in Eastern Canada, serving Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Ontario and back. We make routine scheduled trips usually twice a month. All trips are time negotiated to ensure as close to on-time pickups and deliveries as possible. We always travel safe, therefore we have to consider weather conditions, traffic and routine driving breaks, as required by law. Our speed never exceeds 100 km an hour, where permitted.

In order to have a clean and healthy environment for your horses, we ask that all vaccinations are up-to-date and were given at least 2 weeks before departure.
